AlpenKammerMusik 2020 Applications Open and Exciting News

AlpenKammerMusik (AKM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Felicia Weiss as the new Executive Director.  The AKM chamber music festival is going into its 14th season in the beautiful Lesachtal Valley in the Austrian Alps. Under the leadership of co-artistic director and founder Tanya Bannister and co-artistic director Randall Scarlata, AKM mixes pre-professional students and high-level amateurs for two weeks of intense chamber music study playing alongside and learning from high caliber faculty.

Felicia has been a participant pianist since the first year of the festival and has been the chair of the board since 2016.  Felicia is like family to AKM and is enthusiastic about her new role.  She added. “AKM is a very special place; a place to grow and find your own voice as a musician.  I’m extremely interested in continuing to strengthen AKM’s mission to provide opportunities for underserved music students and continue to connect people through chamber music.”  When Felicia is not at AKM, she works at the World Bank in Washington DC as a technology consultant.

We are also thrilled to announce Ferdinand Stadlober as the new Operations Manager.  Ferdinand grew up with AlpenKammerMusik in his home valley. With his parents, he runs Steineckenalm, a charming mountain hut.  We believe that having Ferdinand as part of the leadership team will not only facilitate festival logistics, but will also continue to strengthen AKM’s connection with the local community.
