Margaret Hager, Administrator
Margaret Hager, originally from Denver, Colorado, studied viola with Max Aronoff at the New School of Music in Philadelphia. During that time, she also attended the Aspen Music Festival for two summers.
Margaret played viola in the Denver Chamber Orchestra for 7 years. She then played in the Colorado Springs Symphony for 8 years before moving to San Antonio where, in addition to free-lance playing, she has worked in the offices the San Antonio Symphony for 15 years.
Before playing in the Colorado Springs Symphony, Margaret lived in Graz, Austria for a year, playing in an orchestra and studying German. She subsequently performed in a orchestra festival in Erl in Tyrol, Austria for a number of summers, and made a 20-city tour of Japan playing waltzes and polkas with an all-Austrian orchestra.
Currently she plays viola with the Mid-Texas Symphony, Victoria (Texas) Symphony, Kerrville Symphony of the Hills, and Laredo Philharmonic, plays violin with the University of the Incarnate Word orchestra, and teaches violin and viola to middle-school students.
Margaret is an avid chamber music player. She has been a participant in the AlpenKammerMusik festival in the summers of 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016, and has loved every moment of it.
